The Central Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of all physical infrastructure at Harare Polytechnic. From buildings and grounds to electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, our team ensures that facilities are safe, operational, and conducive to teaching, learning, and research. We work proactively to maintain assets and respond promptly to maintenance requests.

Repair and maintenance of lighting, power supply, switchgear, and electrical installations across campus.
Fixing leaks, unblocking drains, maintaining water heaters, and ensuring reliable water supply.
Masonry, carpentry, roofing, painting, and general building upkeep.
Lawn mowing, tree trimming, garden maintenance, and refuse collection.
Servicing of air conditioners, fans, and ventilation systems to ensure comfort.
Inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency equipment.
Interior and exterior painting, wall repairs, and finishing work.
Servicing and repair of institutional vehicles and grounds equipment.
Installation of solar water heaters in all student hostels to reduce energy costs.
Rehabilitation of internal roads and walkways for safer access.
Upgrading gardens, planting trees, and creating green spaces around campus.
Modernisation of seating, lighting, and painting in Block A lecture theatres.
